NEW START FOUNDATION FOR ADDICTION AND MENTAL HEALTH

The New Start Digital Youth Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

New Start Foundation is a national charity whose mission is to fund evidence-based treatment with measurable outcomes and clinical capacity building initiatives for the treatment of addictions and medical complex illnesses.

The New Start Digital Youth IOP is an intensive online mental health treatment program for adolescents and is the first and only of its kind in Canada.

The program uses researched-informed behavioural approaches - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The eight-week program, followed by up to six months of aftercare, combines individual and group support, as well as parent/caregiver workshops, which are based on Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). The program will cost 20% of traditional treatment method and will allow youth in under-serviced and rural communities to receive effective and evidence-based treatment.

Additional funds will allow the program to treat more youth, train new clinicians, develop a tech
library, and expand the reach across Canada.
